The Pakistani music scene keeps getting better
and better! This time, it is the baby brother of the country’s Rockstar, Ali
Zafar. The younger of the Zafar brothers made an impressive debut with Coke
Studio, a song which also featured the highly popular Momina Mustehsan.
If that wasn’t enough, Danyal Zafar’s next track
called ‘Ek aur Ek Teen’ proved that he is here to stay! The song – which
features Hania Amir in the video – was a major hit with almost 6 million views
on YouTube alone!
Danyal Zafar or Danny Zee has
completed the work on his solo album which has 8 songs composed and recorded
over the course of 6 months. All of the 8 songs are written and composed by the
young music sensation himself!
A few days back, Danyal released the
first track called “Blue Butterfly” along with the music video shot in the
west. The video is directed by Ash Gupta and features Danyal and Slovenian model
Inja Zalta. Danyal has confirmed on Twitter that his album will have the same
name.
Inspired by the artists such as
frank ocean and john mayer, the music is neo-soul with a slow tempo beat and
dreamy vocals. It is very different then the kind of music being produced by
the Asian artists. The song is about the
longing for love and the ups and downs of the relationship between two people.
In Danyal’s own words, “Blue Butterfly was the emoji-symbol of
love in my last relationship. You can say that this is my ‘last calling’ to
her. A yearn. A box full of cherished memories that I haven’t let go of yet.
And I don’t know if I ever can. See, sometimes, you move on but without ever
getting over...”
